A Message from the Pastor
I hope this email finds you well and healthy under the current circumstances.
I know that you share my disappointment over the fact that we will not be able to gather together in person to celebrate the greatest event in human history this Sunday! It will be a different Easter experience this year than in past years. But that doesn't change the meaning of Christ's resurrection and the impact that it is still having in the world twenty centuries later. 1 Peter 1:3 says that "God, according to His great mercy, has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."
Perhaps now more than ever, you and I need a living hope--a hope that comes to us as a direct result of Jesus' rising from the dead. Because of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God promises that those who are in Christ "are not destined...for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who dies for us, so that whether we are alive or dead, we will live together with Him."
(1 Thessalonians 5:9-10)
Did you notice that phrase "whether we are alive or dead”. It doesn't matter what happens to us -- we will live together with Him. That is our hope, the hope we have because of the resurrection.
Some may say, "Well, that's just a 'sweet by and by' kind of hope. It doesn't help much with our day to day life here and now." But that's just the point: hope for beyond the grave is present hope. The object of hope is future, but the experience of hope is present. And that present experience is powerful. Hope is power. Present power. Hope keeps us going now; it gives meaning to daily life, even locked-down, quarantined, stay-at-home life -- now. It sets us free from fear and greed and selfishness -- now.
Remember Romans 10:11 "For the Scriptures tell us that no one who believes in Christ will ever be disappointed.
I hope we'll watch the Easter service online this Sunday at 10:45 am. I look forward to "seeing" you there. (PS. I've included a link to a YouTube video below that I think will really bless you in this Easter season. Watch it as soon as you can.)

Resurrection Sunday

We are the children of God; and we are.
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and we are.” 1 John 3:1 (ESV)

The Lord Almighty, the creator of all that is seen and unseen, poured out His love upon us and brought us into perfect fellowship with Him by His death on the cross. We believe He is the Son of God, by proof of His resurrection from the dead. Now we CAN know and experience that we are His children; because WE ARE. By faith we lay our confession of sin at His feet and by His grace He raises us up to forever life with Him.

We proclaim to you the one who is Eternal life.
1 We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. 2 This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy. 1 John 1:1-4 (NLT)

We are loved and chosen.
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. 6 So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:3-8 (NLT)

We believe Jesus is the Son of God.
He was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 1:4 (NLT)

We know and experience that we are His children.
And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. 1 John 5:20 (NLT)

We know we have forever life with Him.
11 And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.13 I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. 1 John 5:11-13 (NLT)

Confess and be cleansed.
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9 (NLT)
