Jim & Debbie were married in 1977 after finishing their majors at California Baptist College. Jim majored in Religion and Debbie double majored in Behavioral Science and Religion. They met their sophomore year at Cal Baptist.
After graduation, they started their new life together in Santa Ana. He was Youth Pastor at Bristol Street Baptist church and Debbie began working for the Voter Registration Office. Jim also began taking some extension courses at the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, beginning his Masters of Religious Education Degree. After a couple of years, they moved their home to the campus of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley where Jim continued and finished his Master's Degree in 1983. On the weekends Jim & Debbie served in the Ministry of Music at Faith Baptist Church in Antioch.
After about a year living on campus at GGBTS, Jim was called to serve as Youth Pastor at Cypress Ave Baptist Church in Carmichael. Jim & Debbie moved their home to Carmichael in 1978. They have served in ministry in the Sacramento area at Cypress Ave Baptist Church as Youth Pastor; New Hope Baptist Church as Music Minister, Youth Minister, Education Minister, and Pastor and Hillsdale Blvd Baptist Church as current Pastor.
Debbie continued her career at California State Auto Association as Claims Specialist in Subrogation & Arbitration until she took early retirement in 1998 when CSAA downsized. Her career took a different direction after this and she became the Office Manager at the Sierra Foothills Baptist Association for a couple of years, offering her skills in office administration. She honed her office and clerical skills through temporary employment until she was hired at El Camino Baptist Church as Office Manager in 2005. She continued her ministry, gifts, and talents to the church until March of 2020, taking early retirement to pursue her gifts in ministry to Hillsdale Blvd. Baptist Church.
Jim & Debbie continue to serve in ministry at Hillsdale Blvd. Baptist Church. Their lives exemplify humility with honor as they serve with love and compassion for the calling of Christ.
