Ministry for the Lord has been Pastor Jim's passion since his senior year of High School. He has been serving the Lord faithfully in many capacities since 1973; starting with the Summer Missionary Teams, serving as Worship Leader for a couple of years, with the California Southern Baptist Convention.

Pastor Jim has fully utilized the gifts God has given him, first of all, his love for music and skill in leading worship for youth and adults, and most of all, his passion for teaching and preaching. Pastor Jim excels at teaching and preaching God's word and being able to relate to both the young and the old, that they may apply God's word to their everyday life. Pastor Jim is very personable, loves people and loves serving God.

Pastor Jim has been at Hillsdale Blvd Baptist Church since September 2000, with his wife Debbie. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the California Baptist University in 1977 and a Masters of Religious Education Degree from the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in 1983. Pastor Jim enjoys reading, playing golf, and movies, along with trips to Yosemite, the beach, and Disneyland with his wife and family.

confession, supplication and seeking guidance.

Evangelism   Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with unbelievers.

unbelievers both in our community as well as abroad.

helping them to apply the principles of the Bible to their everyday lives.

Fellowship   Making relationships a priority by encouraging others to
gather together for food, fun and loving one another.

What We Hold to be True

The Scriptures, the Holy Bible, was written by men divinely inspired
and is God's revelation of Himself to man.

There is one and only one living and true God.

The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without divisiion of nature, essence, or being.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  In His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised for the dead three days after his death with a glorified body. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God.

Man is the special creation of god, made in His own image. All men and women are sinners.Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.

How Can I Know I Have God's Forgiveness, Heaven, and Eternal Life with Him?
A person can have God's forgiveness, heaven and eternal life, and Jesus as personal Savior and Lord by trusting in Christ and asking Him for forgiveness.  Take the step of faith described by another meaning of FAITH: Forsaking All I Trust Him.
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and have displeased You in many ways.  I believe You died for my sins and only through faith in Your death in resurrection can I be forgiven.  I want to turn from my sin and ask You to come into my life as my Savior and Lord.  From this day on, I will follow You by living a life that pleases You.  Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving me.  Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, share your decision with our pastor. If you are not already attending church, find one in which you can worship and grow in your faith.  Follow Christ's example, ask to be baptized as a public expression of your faith. God bless you in your decision.
