Christian Hartis is a native Sacramentan, who grew up in the Foothill Farms and North Highlands community. Attending local public schools and graduating from Foothill High School. He went on to pursue an education at the University of California, Davis where he would earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History.
Growing up from early childhood in Hillsdale Boulevard Baptist Church (HBBC), he met his spiritual mentor, the late Luke Gertner, as a young teenager. Luke was the Youth Director and Minister of Music and served as the associate pastor of HBBC for nearly a decade. It was through the mentoring and discipleship of Luke, that he received the training that would equip him to serve as the Minister of Music upon Luke’s passing. Formally starting on July 23, 2013 as an interim position, Christian would later be voted in as a permanent member of the church staff where he continues to serve.
Christian works full-time for Placer County in the Department of Child Support Services outside of HBBC and enjoys being a public servant in this capacity and is married to his beautiful wife, Brie Hartis.
His ultimate desire is to see unity of worship in HBBC and cultivate a spirit of worship in and out of the church walls. To first seek God’s glory and edification in everything we do at HBBC and to live out God’s promises and walk in His love and grace, surrendering our daily lives to His will.
