About Us

How Can I Know God's Love?

What We Value
Hillsdale Baptist Church believes that our values must envelope us and be the driving force behind the Ministries and activities we involve ourselves in.

Worship   Glorifying God as we surrender our lives to Him
through prayer, praise, preaching, and giving.

Prayer   Spiritual communion with God through giving thanks, adoration,
confession, supplication and seeking guidance.

Evangelism   Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with unbelievers.

Giving  Godly management of all the resources given to us by God;
our time, talents, and money.

Missions   Through our giving, praying, and going we focus on reaching
unbelievers both in our community as well as abroad.

Discipleship   Growing daily in the disciplines which enable us
to become like Christ and mentoring others to do the same.

Bible Application   Leading others in the discovery of God's Word and
helping them to apply the principles of the Bible to their everyday lives.

Fellowship   Making relationships a priority by encouraging others to
gather together for food, fun and loving one another.

What We Hold to Be True
Hillsdale Blvd Baptist Church cooperates with the California Southern Baptist Convention. As such we fully accept the Articles of Faith as published in "The Baptist Faith and Message".

The Scriptures, the Holy Bible, was written by men divinely inspired
and is God's revelation of Himself to man.

There is one and only one living and true God.

The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without divisiion of nature, essence, or being.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  In His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised for the dead three days after his death with a glorified body. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God.

Man is the special creation of god, made in His own image. All men and women are sinners.Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.

Still Unsure about Forgiveness, Heaven and Eternal Life?
How to know if I'm a Christian? Becoming a Christian; having God's forgiveness, heaven and eternal life is a matter of   F.A.I.T.H.

We cannot have eternal life and heaven without God's forgiveness.
Ephesians 7:1a "...the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace."

Forgiveness is available for all.
John 3:16  "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in  him  shall not perish but have eternal life."

But not Automatic.

Matthew 7:21a "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom
of heaven,"

It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven because of...

Who He is:
God is loving and just, but His judgment is against sin.

James 2:13a  "because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone
who has not been merciful."

Because of who we are:
Every person is a sinner.

Romans 3:2 "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"

T is for TURN
Turn means to repent: To turn from something - sin and self.
Luke 13:3b "but unless you repent, you too will all perish."
Turn also means to turn to someone - trust Christ only.
Romans 10:9 "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your
heart that God raised  him from the dead, you will be saved."
H is for HEAVEN
Heaven is eternal life; both here and the hearafter.

Here:  John 10:10b "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10b
Hereafter:  John 14:3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to
be with me that you also may be
where I am."

A person can have God's forgiveness, heaven and eternal life, and Jesus as personal Savior and Lord by trusting in Christ and asking Him for forgiveness.  Take the step of faith described by another meaning of FAITH: Forsaking All I Trust Him.
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and have displeased You in many ways.  I believe You died for my sins and only through faith in Your death in resurrection can I be forgiven.  I want to turn from my sin and ask You to come into my life as my Savior and Lord.  From this day on, I will follow You by living a life that pleases You.  Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving me.  Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, share your decision with
our pastor. If you are not already attending church, find one in which you can worship and grow in your faith.  Follow Christ's example, ask to be baptized as a public expression of your faith. God bless you in your decision.
