A Praying Life

 30 Days of Prayer

1 Desire for an Open Heart:
Search me, Lord, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! Psalm 139: 23-24

Lord, It is my desire to have an open heart ready for you to examine. I know that it is my thoughts and my heart that directs my steps, so I need you to reveal to me anything in my life that is displeasing to you. See if I carry any secret sin of pride, love of human praise, anger or impatience, self-will, jealousy, dishonesty, or a deceitful disposition, unbelief, spiritual complacency, or selfishness. Create in me a clean heart and renew my spirit that I may walk in your ways full of your love and abundant life - AMEN.

2 Desire to Please God:
Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:12-13

Lord, you are an awesome God and I thank you for working in my life to give me a desire to obey you and the power to do those things that please you. Let the evidence of my life be a marvelous representation your salvation at work in my life - Amen.

3 Desire to be Transformed:
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.Romans 12:2

Lord, all your ways are to be treasured and my desire to please you should abound in ways that are truly acceptable to you through holy living. Please Help me to resist the ways of the word and allow you to transform me into a new person by changing the way I think. Help me to know what you want me to do and to know how wonderful and pleasing your perfect will is for my life - Amen.

4 Desire for Spiritual Wisdom:

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. Colossians 1:9-10

Lord, help me to really know you. What are your thoughts? What is your perfect will for bringing about your Kingdom work? How can I please and honor you? Please give me a complete understanding of what your perfect will is for my life and make me wise with spiritual wisdom. May my life produce every good fruit as I learn to know you better and better - Amen.

5 Desire for More Faith:
My dear FriENds, all glory be to our Lord. It is by His mighty power at work within us, that He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope; keep this Hope in you and have great Faith - Amen.

When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will EmPoWer YOU with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you TrUST in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you StRong. And may you have the power to UndERstaND, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you ExPERienCe the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made ComPLeTe with all the FuLLness of life and PoWer that comes from God.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

6 Desire to be Mature in Christ
Lord, your servants, our pastors, ministers and teachers, have such an awesome responsibility. We fervently pray for the strength of your spirit to minister to their needs. We pray for their preaching, teaching and leading, that you will give them wisdom and insight and that they might speak your truth in love. We pray for their families and the demands that church life has on them, that they may not neglect but take care of the needs of their families. We pray for the protection of your servants against temptation, for the wiles of the Devil is to destroy their ministry. We pray that You will continue to equip Your servants to do Your work and to build up the church, the body of Christ that we may become MATURE IN YOU, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. For it is your servant's DESIRE Lord to use the gifts you have given them to do YOUR work and to help others GROW so that the body is healthy and growing and full of love - AMEN.

"Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Ephesians 4:11-1

7 Desire for Holiness
Lord, since you have chosen me to be a holy people you love, let me clothe myself with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, and patience. Help me to make allowances for other's faults and be forgiving, for you have forgiven me. And most of all let me put on love; for it is love that binds us all together in perfect harmony - Amen.

"Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.Make allowance for each others faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful." Colossians 3:12-14

8 Desire to Make God Happy
"Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose." Philippians 2:1-2

Lord, this is my hope and fervent prayer for the future of our church in these turbulent and trying times. Let me be encouraging when needed, help me give comfort and love freely. Let our fellowship together be spirit felt - full of compassion. Help me make you truly happy by wholeheartedly cooperating with the family of God, loving each other, and working together with one heart and purpose - Amen.

9 Desire for Humility
"Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:3-11

Lord, may I practice humility by reflecting the same attitude you demonstrated for us. May I refrain from selfish thinking and actions, trying to impress others. More importantly may I take a genuine interest in the concerns and interests of others, more than my own. Then I will demonstrate true humility as characterized by YOU in my life - Amen.

10 Desire to be Encouraging
"Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.... Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. Ephesians 4:21-24,29b

Lord, we don't want to be controlled by our old nature anymore. Help us yield to our new nature that we may be renewed in the way we think. May everything we say be helpful and useful for good things, that our words will be an encouragement and a help to those who hear them - Amen.

11 Desire to be an Example
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:15-17

Lord, may the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in my heart and make me wise. Give me Your words to teach and to give wise counsel...and whatever I do or say, may it be as a representative of you as I give thanks to you, Father. My heart is yours, I give it all, my life is in your hands - Amen.

12 Desire Effective Conversations
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone." Colossians 4:2-6

Lord, we want to be wise and effective in everything we do. Please help us to be watchful, thankful and prayerful so that our conversation and actions will clearly be a witness for you. Help us to make the most of every opportunity to be gracious and effective with the way we speak; so that I will always have the right answer for everyone - Amen.

13 Desire to Do Good
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.Ephesians 5:15-17

Lord, it is so easy to take for granted some of the traps we can get ourselves into by simply not paying attention. Please help me to be careful how I live, being wise and thoughtful. Help me to make the most out of of every opportunity for doing good. These days are evil. Help me to stop acting thoughtlessly, but that I may understand what you want me to do in every situation - Amen.

14 Desire to be Like Jesus
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Ephesians 5:1-2

Lord, I want to be like YOU. I am your child and I want to imitate you in how I live and act and love. May everyone know that I am your child because everything I do is filled with love for others following you in all your ways. How can I not follow your example, for you loved and gave yourself as a sacrifice for me and took away all my sins - Amen.

15 Desire for Guidance
1 O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
3 You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
4 You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
5 You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand! Psalm 139:1-6

Lord, what a wonderful truth to hold on to. Your vast knowledge is incomprehensible. If we could for one split second fully actuate that knowledge, what a change would take place in our lives. YOU know our depth, our humanness, what drives us and what stirs our soul. Yes, it is too wonderful and too great for me to understand. What I do know, YOUR love surrounds me. You prepare my path and go before me and behind me. YOUR hand of blessing is on me. What should do I do with such knowledge? Make it count, Lord. Whatever you have in store for my life, make it count as a blessing to you. Will anyone let such knowledge go to waste? You are blessed to be a blessing. Go with God. Make your life count - Amen.

16 Desire God’s Plan for my life
I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3

Lord, I am so blessed to know that you have a plan for my life and your plans are for my good that I may have a hope and a future. So, I commit my work to you Lord, for only then will my plans succeed- Amen.

17 Desire to Work Hard
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Colossians 3:23

Lord, you look at everything we do very seriously. How we serve in our families, workplace, community and church is a vivid reflection of our commitment to you. May we work hard and cheerfully at whatever we do; as though we are working for you rather than people.
- Amen.

18 Desire a Good Reputation
Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold. Proverbs 22:1

Lord, to be like you is my heart's desire. May I seek to know your ways as if I were seeking great riches. Then knowing your ways and walking in them will be a high honor to me; more so than obtaining gold or silver - Amen.

19 Desire Faithfulness
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:16

Lord, "My heart is Yours, My heart is Yours. Take it all. Take it all.
My life in Your hands." Lord, may I be faithful to you in all things; In all that I do and say, may YOU be the life song I sing. Use me to be an encourager to others having the fruit of the spirit, with all wisdom, giving wise council, following your example and always giving thanks. Amen.

20 Desire Responsibility
Jesus speaking. “If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live. When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” John 14: 15-21

Lord, you overwhelm me. I thank you. In your infinite wisdom you have provided such a wonderful blessing. You've taken care of everything. Coupled with our love and devotion to you, you also require us to take responsibility to obey your commands. How can we ever think it possible to always do what you ask? Your wisdom is too marvelous! You knew we could never do this unless you send the Holy Spirit to indwell us. Thank you for our perfect advocate, who leads us into all truth. Your indwelling gives us the power to love and obey - the mark of your true disciple - Amen.

21 Desire Good over Evil
Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. 1 Peter 3:8-9

Dear friend, don’t let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know God. 3 John 1:11

Lord, because I am your child I want my lifestyle to prove that I know you and love you. Give me the strength not to give into the temptation to follow the Father of lies, you are my Father and I want to follow your example. Release your power in me to overcome evil with good. Let love and humility be my guide instead of repaying evil for evil. Help me to strive to give my life as an offering of blessing to others; as you have blessed me in so many ways. You are my Father and I will surrender to none other - Amen.

22 Desire to Resist Sin
So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God. You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy—their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols.

Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you. But remember that they will have to face God, who stands ready to judge everyone, both the living and the dead. That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead—so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit.

The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.

If you are insulted because you bear the name of Christ, you will be blessed, for the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you. If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people’s affairs. But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name! 1 Peter 4:1-16

Lord, your words are so deep. May I have your mind that I may fully fathom the immense implications of LiVinG By IT! May I realize that receiving YOU as my - LOrd, SaVioR, Father - puts me in a unique position to share all things as I share your likeness. Empower me with YOUR Will to resist SIN; for I do not want to identify with my former Father - the deceiver. I DO NOT want to be identified with corrupt moral choices or even making trouble and prying into other peoples business. Lord, may everything that I say and especially how I behave reflect you and give YOU all glory. May I receive your suffering with grace; for I know that these times will come, for I am called by YOUR NAME - Amen.

23 Desire Self-Control
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. Colossians 3:1-11

Lord, help me set my sights for moral standards much higher than usual. You have given me a new life and a new nature that is continuously being renewed to be more like you as I yield my life to you. Give me power over evil desires and lusts of the flesh and pride that grieves your spirit. I don't want to have any part of these things. I thank you, Lord, for giving me the power to change because you live inside of me - Amen.

24 Desire to Resist the Devil
What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him. And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say,

“God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.”

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor. James 4:1-10

Lord, you are very serious about our giving into our base, unscrupulous, human inclinations. It is time for us to take a deeper look into our thoughts and motives. We don't want to be adulterers, because you are our Father; not the evil one. We want to be faithful to you, not to become your enemy. Lord, help us to humble ourselves before you and resist the devil and his schemes to trip us up and divide our loyalty to you. Help us humble ourselves before you and abandon our baser instincts and learn of you and receive your power to change how we think and act. For you are, Lord, the water of life and so faithful to accept our confessions and give grace and honor to us and lift us up to receive perfect fellowship with you - Amen.

25 Desire to Witness for Christ
Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.

I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me.

Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw him. For I am the least of all the apostles. In fact, I’m not even worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted God’s church.

But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace. So it makes no difference whether I preach or they preach, for we all preach the same message you have already believed.1 Corinthians 15:1-11

Lord, as the Apostle Paul wrote, we are to proclaim your good news. We have seen you too and touched you and experienced your presence in our lives; just as the apostles and early believers did. Our experience is in the spiritual realm, but none-the-less, just as real and personal. Help us to be more diligent to share with others your good news, that CHRIST DIED for our sins, He was BURIED, and He was RAISE FROM THE DEAD on the third day, as the scriptures said. We can attest to this because your power is evident in our lives; and with our surrender to you as Lord you have given us NEW LIFE, MEANING, and PURPOSE - Amen.

26 Desire to Pray for the Lost
Isaiah 53:1 Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,There is no beauty that we should desire Him.

3 He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep
Luke 15:1 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” 3 So He spoke this parable to them, saying:

Jesus Speaking
4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

Lord, you are the ONE and ONLY TRUE GOD. The one who seeks and saves those who are lost. It was your choice to rescue us from sin and death; to take the penalty upon yourself that we might receive your forgiveness rather than judgement for our sin. We were like sheep who had gone astray, we were seeking our own way, only to find that it did not satisfy; we were made for fellowship with you and you are the only one who can satisfy that longing.

There are other lost lambs out there who have not found you yet.

Lord, I pray for your lost lambs who need your ARMS.
Send your arms of strength that will support them through life when it gets so unbearable and they don't have the strength to cope.

Lord, I pray for your lost lambs who need your HEART.
Send them your heart that is over flowing with love, mercy, grace and faithfulness that will fill up all the empty void in their soul that is in desperate need.

Lord, I pray for your lost lambs who need your EYES.
Send them your eyes that their hearts will be enlightened to your truth. Help them to come face to face with you that they may see you in all your glory so they can experience your life everlasting.

Lord, I pray for your lost lambs who need your EARS.
Send them your ears that they may hear your words of life. That their souls will be awakened to your truth and that they may grasp with both hands the reality of your being - knowing that you are their creator and that your greatest desire is to know them intimately.

Send your lost lambs your messengers and ministers, of your WORD of LIFE, to guide them into your truth.

Help your lost lambs to feel you, see you, and know you - Amen.

27 Desire to use our gifts to build up the body of Christ
In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. Romans 12:6-13

...speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Ephesians 4:5-16

Lord, you put us together to be your church - whole, healthy and full of love. Help us find our perfect fit into the Body of Christ that we will use our gifts and abilities purposely and responsibly to build each other up; to serve rather than be served. I know in doing this you will make us more and more LIKE YOU which will bring much glory and honor to your name - Amen.

28 Desire Steadfastness
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Lord may we stand firm in the faith of the gospel we have heard; knowing we have an immoveable hope and expectation, that one day we will meet you face to face and and our mortal bodies will be changed, from corruptible to incorruptible. Let us keep on working with enthusiasm and much joy, serving you. For you Lord are our joy and our strength - Amen.

29 Desire a Servant's Heart
Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me. Matthew 20:27

Mark 9:33-35
And they came to Capernaum. And when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?” But they kept silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest. And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

Lord, we want to follow in your footsteps, that our lives may bring honor to you by the way we live. As we follow you and know your heart and your ways, help us to serve rather than be served - Amen.

30 Desire God Proverbs 3: 1-6
1 My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
2 If you do this, you will live many years,
and your life will be satisfying.

3 Never let loyalty and kindness leave you!
Tie them around your neck as a reminder.
Write them deep within your heart.
4 Then you will find favor with both God and people,
and you will earn a good reputation.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

Lord, my desire is YOU. As your precious child, I'm compelled to remember those things you have taught me. I will store them in my heart and guard them as precious treasures. In all I do I will seek your will and TRUST YOU and DEPEND on YOU to understand those things that are out of my grasp; for you will show me what path to take. Yes, it is you I desire and the path you have prepared for me - Amen.
